The school is a Christ-centered environment that provides the opportunity for spiritual growth through the living traditions of the Church, the practice of prayer, participation in Mass, and strong religious curriculum. Students are able to celebrate the presence of Christ in themselves and others by displaying charity, performing service, and making faith-based decisions. Students are also challenged academically and guided toward achieving grade-level expectations. By providing a strong foundation, students are prepared for the demands of high school and learning as lifelong process.
Mary Star Elementary is blessed to have a faculty that is academically qualified, enthusiastic about education, and 100% Catholics. As a group, their accomplishments include California State Teaching Credentials, Masters in Education, Masters in Child and Adolescent literacy and innumerable hours of specific development for their grade levels. We are the only elementary school in the Archdiocese to have a priest on faculty. Father Patrick has been a member of our school family for over 15 years!
A new preschool opened in September 2009 brings a Catholic, caring, and warm environment to the youngest members of our community. Mary Star of the Sea Preschool offers varied activates in faith development, art, language, music, movement, science, math, outdoor play and cooking.

Continuing the great tradition of Catholic education, Mary Star of the Sea High School challenges students to reach their full human potential through a living faith in God. In the context of a small community environment based on mutual respect, the school prepares students for this world and the next by nourishing the soul, cultivating personal integrity, challenging the mind and fostering social responsibility.
Mary Star High School is staffed by the Norbertine Fathers, other religious, and certificated laity, so that all students receive an education interwoven with Catholic principles.
After graduating, Mary Star of the Sea students continue their education at a wide variety of Catholic, private, and state colleges and universities in California, as well as throughout the country and abroad. With 97 percent of the Class of 2009 planning to attend college, in-state acceptances included numerous Catholic colleges and universities, the 23 California State Universities, and nine University of California schools, as well as community college honor programs.
With new academic facilities on a peaceful 27-acre campus, Mary Star of the Sea High School offers a great learning environment. An administration building, library and chapel, as well as more sports facilities, are all planned for the next few years. So many have joined the Development Department in supporting this project that gives enduring glory to God and great opportunities for our youth.
