History: The RCIA program was organized with the purpose of providing ongoing conversion of Catholics/non-Catholics. The primary goal is the promotion of a holistic threefold informational, formational and transformational process of conversion through prayer, study, discussion and celebration. The whole process comprises doctrinal, scriptural, liturgical, apostolic and practical information.
On Wednesdays 7-9 pm.

BIBLE STUDY

History: Adult Education is ongoing in order to increase the faith of parishioners and to encourage further participation in the areas of doctrine, scripture, liturgy, apostolic and faith formation.
Program is based on the availability of outside speakers, existing parish interests and needs, e.g.: based on Sunday Liturgical readings. Schedules are published in the parish Sunday bulletin.
Held each Monday evening in the Parish Center.
PARISH HOSPITALITY

History: Formally organized in 1994 as part of the Ushers Ministry. All ushers act as 'greeters' during each Mass throughout the weekend.
In addition to the role of the ushers, members of the Hospitality Committee prepare donuts and coffee after the 9:00 and 10:30 a.m. Masses. This hospitality time takes place in the Parish Center Patio.
PRISON MINISTRIES

History: In 1994, this ministry was added to parish evangelization at the request of the prison chaplain at Terminal Island Federal Correction Institute.
Prison Ministry: Federal
Correctional Institution, Terminal Island
Trained volunteers teach the love of God through the Bible,
giving inmates a sense of hope and redemption through
understanding, compassion.
These ministers serve on Sunday at 8:00 A.M.
Juvenile Detention Ministry:
Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall, Downey
History:
Established as part or the parish program in 1996, at
the request of Los Padrinos Juvenile Detention Center.

preparation and to encourage ongoing study of doctrine as a
basis for Christian living
