The two-year Confirmation process at Mary Star of the Sea Parish focuses on both
spiritual growth and conversion, and religious education. During the 2005-2006
school year a Design Team is working on creating a dynamic process for teenagers
that will involve praise, spiritual formation, individual reflection and
leadership in our Catholic Faith community. Elements of the process include
religious education; communal praise and reflection; retreats; leading worship
in our parish; and field trips. Like all Christians, the Confirmation
student is expected to serve the needs of their poor and needy neighbor and give
evidence of their commitment to the Gospel of Christ during their formation
years.
The Youth Ministry in our parish exists for all teenagers of the parish. The
group continues their spiritual formation begun in their families and nurtured
in the Confirmation process. In addition, Youth Ministry conducts movie and game
nights, leadership at worship in the Youth Mass at Mary Star. There are
opportunities for retreats, outings, and discussion around issues of our
Catholic Faith.
CONFIRMATION: Students in High School (2-year process) have classes on Thuesday or Thursday 4-5 or 7-8.
YOUTH MINISTRY: Teens have the opportunity to participate in Life Teen and other events.
YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY: Young adults,
between the ages of 18 and 40, single or married, have created a forum for the
spiritual, social and intellectual growth among their peers. All young adults
are encouraged to join this organization.
